Tel Aviv and Tsfat

After flights to Chicago, then Istanbul, I finally made it to Tel Aviv.  The next morning, my friends and I started out to see the city.  We started at the beach.

We walked to Jaffa, the oldest part of Tel Aviv.  It was an ancient port city.  This is the clock tower there.

We walked through the oldest part of town which is now mostly filled with art galleries.

That night we went to a welcome dinner for all of the 200 ladies in our group.

We had a great time.

The next morning we got up bright and early to tour the newer part of Tel Aviv.

From our first stop, you could see the part of town that we were in the day before.

We walked to Independence Hall.  This is a museum that is located in the building where Jewish independence was declared in 1948.

That night we got to our hotel in Tiberus.  It was very interestingly decorated.

The next morning we were up bright and early again for a meeting.  The women were singing and dancing before it even started at 8 AM.

After the meeting, we took a bus ride to Tsfat.

It has some beautiful views.

This city is the highest in Israel and is considered mystical.

I loved how it had blue accents everywhere.

This is an old synagogue there. It was beautiful.

We toured a mikveh that is still used today. It was really interesting to learn about it.

Erin and I went back to pray on a special bench that has been used by mothers to pray for children they have (or children they wish for) for the last several centuries.

We went to a neat candle shop where they make gorgeous candles, and even things like the boat made out of wax all in the shop.

Doesn't this picture just truly make you feel like you are in Israel?

We ate some yummy falafel and shawarma just like in dinosaur goes to Israel.

On the way out of town our bus got stuck, and it took several men to figure out how to move it...
