The Rest of January

We went to the Forth Worth Zoo on a day off with Mimi, and this picture of Tahl with a chameleon is the only picture I remembered to take.  Oh well.

Here is a little video of Maya reading one of her favorite books.

Tahl had a school performance with songs from around the world.

Here is Miss Maya in a picture taken for no other reason than to show off her silly pig tails.

It was the 100th day of school! Isaac was really into the dressing up like you are 100 tradition.

He even saw a picture when we were looking up costume ideas online that he wanted to copy, so he had me stuff a shirt in his belly to make him chubby.

 What a goofball.

Here he is later with his friend in class.  He loved the whole day, but was a little disappointed to find out that kindergarten wasn't over now.

FLORIDA!

We went to South Florida for Ari's cousin's bar mitzvah.

I got this sweet picture on the plane.

We got all dressed up Friday night, Saturday morning, and Saturday night. I forgot to take any pictures Friday night, but here is a picture of the boys from services on Saturday morning.

Here is Tahl looking handsome at the party with Aunt Nancy. They had lots of fun dancing together.

Zev got a wilder and wilder as the night went on.

Smooches

Some more crazy dance moves.

And a whole crazy family.

This is such a descriptor of our crazy family.

Sunday afternoon we headed out to Everglades National Park.  This was our first alligator of the day.

This is an anhinga bird. The trail was named after this bird.

More alligators...

Here is Zev at the southern most (at least land locked) end of Florida.

The boys were excited to see an Osprey.

The next day the boys got to earn new Junior Ranger badges.

It is hard to see, but this is a little baby alligator.

Not all, but most of the trails were boardwalks like this that can be traveled on no matter the water level. We were there in the dry season with less mosquitoes and more animals to see.

 Like more birds!

And even more alligators...

Ari found this snake.

The boys each wanted their picture made with this alligator, but it is really hard to see both the kids and the alligator at the same time.

Here he is on zoom.

Your traditional boy and a crane picture.

The boys were pretty exhausted from the water park and bar mitzvah (complete with late bed times) part of our trip, so they were not at their best at the National Park.  I still think it was worth visiting though and a very cool experience.

Boring month...

It is the new year, and we are nice and boring over here.  We had a slow month so far with back to school and a sick Maya. Here are a few pictures.

Maya's dream is coming true here with an apple in each hand.  We had to move the fruit bowl.

For the new year, the boys and I made our first pie!

Maya likes to watch the boys race on Mario Kart, but then she messes them up when she tries to sit down in their laps.

Just hugging a squid.

Here is a little bike and scooter outing with a squid, a troll, and two regular kids.

This was the only picture I got of our whole family trip to the Perot.  Oh well.

Crazy hair day

Hair just a little bit calmer at the park.

Then Maya got the flu.  We couldn't go anywhere, and she was VERY grumpy.

Except this time I found her with a chocolate from Christmas. I'm not sure where she got it, but I let it slide because I was happy she was eating anything at all.

Here she is on the way home from the doctor after her official diagnosis.

Two days later with a little Tylenol.  It has been hard to break her back out of the extra TV habit now that she is feeling better.

I thought she was feeling all the way better. I even got her dressed in real clothes this day.

But I was wrong. The flu made a comeback big time.

On another note, after the previous remote control in the rain boot, last week I found an old apple in my rain boot.

Look at this! She was feeling well enough for a small outing this day!

And to steal dad's hat!

She was all the way back to normal after eight days and ready for a donut to celebrate!

She is really into coloring right now, and that includes on the floor, the walls, the couch... We spend a lot of time trying to make sure she is behaving.  Here she is drawing on the kitchen floor.

This is Tahl's homework about his new year's resolutions. It cracked me up.

I found her like this one morning this week.  I thought it was too funny.

And I never get enough pictures of the big guys.  That is because half of their lives they aren't wearing pants. Here is Isaac playing in some crazy costume he made to fight Zombies with Zev.
