Happy Halloween!

Zev was so excited to wear his minion costume today to see his OT, Miss Collins, because he knew she was going to be a minion for Halloween too. Tahl had to dress up early too because he wanted to be in the picture.

After OT, we got a smoothie, and we went to get dad. Then we went to a friend's house for trick or treating.  Here is Zev posing by a grave stone in their front yard.

Tahl was hanging out with his friend Gia.

Look how happy this sweet minion is!

Here are all the friends posing on the porch. Of course, I couldn't get them all to look at me at the same time.

These are supposed to be their spookiest faces.

 Close up spooky faces!

This is the face they would make if someone gave them 100 pieces of candy.

I think hers might be the best.

Their first house.

Tahl kept up with the big kids better than last year, but he still couldn't quite do it all.  I did end up carrying him for a block.

Some of the guys got pantless and helped give out candy (and eat it!) when we got back.

The kids had a great time trick or treating.  On the way home, Zev said he wanted to trick or treat again tomorrow with his friends.

Random pictures from the week...

This is Zev's inventive was to clean up Lego's.  He is a vacuum.

Tahl really loves this doll.  Lulu even goes to the grocery store.

Tahl went to a play group Halloween party and parade at the Plano Senior Center.

Here he is with some of his friends. Notice Wayne and Garth in the background.

On his way out to play...

This weekend on Sunday we carved our pumpkins! After last year's elaborate Goofy and Mickey faces, we decided to just make jack o'laterns.

This is what Tahl looks like when I ask him to smile... Yikes. I really hope this isn't the face he made last week in our family pictures. I asked him why his arms had to be up to smile. He said they were like little birds....

He asked for a scary pumpkin.  Zev thought Tahl's pumpkin was a little too scary.

Look at this guy so proud of his pumpkin! If only it wasn't so bright.

Here's a real smile (with some crazy hair...)

Boo! This is his "Boo!" face!

There are no more pictures of Tahl with his pumpkin because he wouldn't stop kicking it like a soccer ball, so he had to go inside.  Here is one last picture of Zev with his.  He stayed up late to see it in the dark, but I didn't get any pictures.
After this we went on a pumpkin hunt walk through our neighborhood. We counted 106 pumpkins!

Big week at school!

Last week, Ari was the mystery reader for Zev's class.

He was so excited that Ari was there.

I think he looks like he is having a pretty good time.

He does think all the "Elephant and Piggie" books are hilarious.

Zev's teachers took these.  How cute are these guys together?

Zev really loves his dad. He is a pretty lucky kid.

Last week was parent's showcase week at Zev's school.  Different parents came in to teach about something.  Here, one of the dads came to coach soccer.

Zev was really excited about this one.

Here is a sequence of him in action!

Later that day, the kids went to the book fair. They each got to write a list of books that they wanted.  Zev's list was great.

It was very readable, and he copied both the book titles correctly.  He even told me that this one had an exclamation point at the end, which he included.

He told me he put books that I would want on his list.

On Thursday, the kids went on a field trip to a science fair at Levine Academy.

Zev thought it was really fun to ride in a car with his friends.

Here he is working with magnets.

more magnet activities...

a little class photo

listening carefully

I was told that after they did this one, he said, "Wow! I would like to see that again!" Apparently that was charming enough that they let him do it twice.

He told me the next time he held it while his friend poured.

On another day, a mom brought in her viola.  He told me that "It was an instrument that starts with "V," but it is not a violin.  It has two things with horse hair strings!"

Ari went to Tahl's class to show them how he makes green juice.

He said that all the kids that were there early enough to help make the juice drank it all and thought it was good, and all the kids who got there a little too late to help make it wouldn't touch it.

I taught a little lesson in Zev's class about sinking and floating.

He was so excited I was there.

Here he is filling out the chart.

If I had it to do again, I would do the lesson differently, so all the kids didn't have to wait for a turn.  Oh well.

After I left, Zev got to bake cookies with another mom! I'm definitely the lamest parent in the class...

Friday was grand parent's day! Zev was SO excited that Pops and Gram got to come.

Here he is showing them where he signs in.

He told me he was working on some art with Gram.

I love this picture!
Thanks so much to Dad and Stacy.  Zev loves the books you bought him at book fair, and he loved spending time with you at his school!
