Big weekend

The big boys and I went to the Dallas Children's Theater to see the Legend of the Blue Bonnets.

It was a good show, and Tahl loved going up front for them to sing to the April birthdays.

We also had Isaac's first T-ball game!  He was the first up to bat.

He did a pretty good job at fielding, but when he actually got the ball, he didn't know where to throw it.

A lot of the boys were busy just playing in the dirt.

Isaac did a better job batting the second time.

He isn't quite to not knocking down the tee.  He is the second youngest on the team, but he is loving it.

He especially loved the popsicle after the game.

Sunday we went to a birthday party, Isaac had T-ball practice, and Zev made an epic side walk chalk booby trap.

The last thing we did on Sunday was let Tahl update a wall in his room. After the other boys got a new bunk bed and new Harry Potter art, he was a little jealous.  We also needed a safe place to store Tahl's new turtle shell.  We decided to get Tahl a new animal/nature wall! He got lots of cool animal posters and an awesome shelf for his turtle, shell, and a future birthday present we will post soon.

Spring Break

We got some terrible news right before spring break that we will no longer be getting the baby from Anaheim.  We are beyond upset, but we are trying to keep the boys busy and help them to move on.

On the first day of spring break we went to the zoo with Beth, Lucy, Chris, and Nick.

After several years of saving up his points, Tahl got this turtle shell from the nature exchange.

On Tuesday we went to the arboretum. It started off pretty cold.

It warmed up a little, and I got some cute pictures of the boys in front of the tulips.

I am terrible at getting pictures where the sun isn't in their eyes, but also there aren't any shadows. I can't really seem to win.

I took a lot that look like this.

Then we waiting in a long line to get the boy's faces painted.  After a lot of deliberating, Isaac settled on puppy.

I really can't say enough good things about this iphone X camera and portrait mode.

I also can't say enough about how cute these boys are, but I may be biased.

Tahl was excited to try a pink tiger this year instead of a white tiger like the last two years.

After face painting, we went to play at the children's garden.  The boys put on a puppet show while we ate lunch.

You can see Isaac's face paint post peanut butter here.

He was very excited to try out the newly repainted ant.

The puppy ended up very tired after a long day, and he needed some mommy snuggle time.

On Wednesday we went to the park with friends in the morning and the trampoline park with different friends in the afternoon. Thursday we went hiking at Arbor Hills Nature Preserve with Emily and her boys. Friday we went to Amazing Jake's for video games and laser tag with Emily again, and then we spent the afternoon at a birthday party.  It was a busy week.

On Saturday, I got the bright idea to go to the Fort Worth zoo to help distract myself.  It was a beautiful day and about half of Texas was at the zoo with us.  We still had fun on our road trip and seeing some animals we don't have at the Dallas zoo. We particularly loved the chameleons and baby new baby Bonobo and gorilla.

We had lots of friends bring us meals, cookies, flowers, and just try to keep us busy during this hard time.  We were so thankful for all our friends as we try to adjust to this sad news.

zoo and more

Isaac and Tahl discovered the deliciousness of ants on a log.  Isaac really only likes the raisins and peanut butter, but Tahl LOVES celery.  Tahl thinks ants on a log is the best snack ever invented.

On a random day after we had already packed our lunches, our friends called to say they were too sick to play.  Isaac and I decided to go to the zoo on another date!

He had so much fun playing in the preschool area for as long as he wanted.

He grilled me some yummy lunch.

He also got to save some animals and play vet.

He loved fishing in the little pond too.

Just like his brothers, he can never get enough dirt.

I really love this new portrait mode on my new phone.

It even makes Isaac's napping in an eye mask (which he does daily) look fancy!

On Thursday night we went to Open House.  Tahl was so proud to pose with Mrs. Pate and show off his work!  Tahl has grown so much this year in school behavior and work ethic. We are really proud of him.
