Spring Break

We got some terrible news right before spring break that we will no longer be getting the baby from Anaheim.  We are beyond upset, but we are trying to keep the boys busy and help them to move on.

On the first day of spring break we went to the zoo with Beth, Lucy, Chris, and Nick.

After several years of saving up his points, Tahl got this turtle shell from the nature exchange.

On Tuesday we went to the arboretum. It started off pretty cold.

It warmed up a little, and I got some cute pictures of the boys in front of the tulips.

I am terrible at getting pictures where the sun isn't in their eyes, but also there aren't any shadows. I can't really seem to win.

I took a lot that look like this.

Then we waiting in a long line to get the boy's faces painted.  After a lot of deliberating, Isaac settled on puppy.

I really can't say enough good things about this iphone X camera and portrait mode.

I also can't say enough about how cute these boys are, but I may be biased.

Tahl was excited to try a pink tiger this year instead of a white tiger like the last two years.

After face painting, we went to play at the children's garden.  The boys put on a puppet show while we ate lunch.

You can see Isaac's face paint post peanut butter here.

He was very excited to try out the newly repainted ant.

The puppy ended up very tired after a long day, and he needed some mommy snuggle time.

On Wednesday we went to the park with friends in the morning and the trampoline park with different friends in the afternoon. Thursday we went hiking at Arbor Hills Nature Preserve with Emily and her boys. Friday we went to Amazing Jake's for video games and laser tag with Emily again, and then we spent the afternoon at a birthday party.  It was a busy week.

On Saturday, I got the bright idea to go to the Fort Worth zoo to help distract myself.  It was a beautiful day and about half of Texas was at the zoo with us.  We still had fun on our road trip and seeing some animals we don't have at the Dallas zoo. We particularly loved the chameleons and baby new baby Bonobo and gorilla.

We had lots of friends bring us meals, cookies, flowers, and just try to keep us busy during this hard time.  We were so thankful for all our friends as we try to adjust to this sad news.
