Mexico (Day 6 - our last day!)

This day we went to get our covid tests to be able to come back into the US. It was a two hour disaster, but we finally got it done and were all negative.  So we went to visit the Croco Cun Zoo which rescues animals.

Z got to feed the parrot.

They had so many alligators (180) and we each got to pet a small one.

We saw lots of reptiles, and the kids even got to all hold a big one.

The light is blocking Maya's face some, but she was so happy to hold this snake, and she did not want any help.

A Mexican hairless dog like in CoCo.

We got to walk through an open croc enclosure.  They were not intersted in us.

Then we got to see some spider monkeys up close that just live there.

Next the kids got to throw food to the turtles.

And we were so excited to see the same Coati's that we had seen the day before!

That afternoon we tried to go to the beach, but it was packed with no parking because it was mother's day.  We ended up going souvenier shopping instead. Yuck.  When we got home, Maya needed to do some more diving.  Silly kid. She's a snorkling lady now.

Mexico (Day 5 - Xcaret! )

On this day we took the kids to XCARET! We had the best time and were so impressed with it.

Our kids love all things animal, and this aviary was amazing.

They loved watching the quail eggs hatching.

Some of the pictures are out of order but it’s too hard to change them. Oh well. This was part of the childrens area.

We watched this awesome ancient flying man ritual.

When I said it was too sunny, Maya told me I just needed to make a shy face. I asked her what that looked like. This is her shy face.

We visited the aquarium.

We saw the big sea turtles and hundreds of babies.

The kids also loved the manatees. There were quite a few, and they were SNUGGLING!

We were so excited to find the jaguar.

He came to an awesome spot for us to see him up above.

We were looking down at him from this bridge.

We also LOVED the butterfly garden. It was amazing.

Here are Tahl and Isaac back in the aviary.

The kids had the best time playing in the kids area.

They got to crawl through tunnels and even go through a small little aviary to get to the water slides.

Here is Isaac playing in the rope course.

Maya went through a small part of it with my help.

More water slide pictures

Zev and Maya had fun playing together in this cenote.

He was swimming around with her on his back.

Tahl wanted a picture too.

I love this picture of Zev. ❤️

Yum.

Maya told me that she needed a nap in my lap.

She woke up refreshed and ready to play on the splash pad.

Ari took the boys to float through a river. He said that they even went through a cave with hundreds of bats over their heads.

Z and T really wanted to see the horse show.

Z watched it like this to avoid a sunburn.

We walked around the Mexican cemetery.

And some wild coatis were chasing each other right by us!

On the way out I asked some teenagers working at the front of the park where the best place was for cheap tacos. They sent us to the most delicious place where we fed everyone for $20. T was a big fan and ate every crazy taco Ari ordered.

That night Maya told me she was still hungry. Here we are pretending she is a giant instead of that she just has a tiny banana.
