Father's Day Craziness!

Happy Father's Day to Ari!

Ari is one of the greats.  He is so involved with our kids, and he loves them more than anything.  We planned to take this day to celebrate him, but as you will see, things got a little crazy. We did get up, and we tried to let him sleep and make him breakfast.  Then we all watched Aladdin, one of Ari's favorites.

During Isaac's nap, Zev, Tahl, and I went to the local no kill animal shelter, Operation Kindness, to deliver the donations from Zev's birthday party. Zev was excited to deliver the donations and maybe get to pet a dog.

Here are the boys before they helped me get everything inside.

We have to pose with every statue that we ever see.

We got to pick the dog we wanted to pet, and we chose this sweet puppy.

His name was Zeke, and the boys had fun petting him.

I was very proud of Zev for donating his gifts this year.

Then we went back home to continue celebrating with Ari. He wanted to go for a swim. This first video is Zev diving all the way down to the bottom deep part of the pool to get a ring.  This is the first year he can do it in the deep end.

Here is Tahl SWIMMING to Ari.  He isn't swimming that far yet, but this is a big turning point for him!  Hopefully he will be able to by the end of the summer!

While we were swimming Dixie seemed very restless. She kept walking around everywhere and then getting in the position to go to the bathroom with nothing happening.  Ari thought maybe today was the day for the puppies. He got her a spot for whelping all set up.

He was right.

Some of these are a little graphic/bloody.

It was so amazing though watching the puppies being born!

The kids were mostly busy watching TV because we didn't want thing distracting or bothering Dixie.

They were excited to come see the puppies though after each one was born.

Here is another one, twenty minutes later.

It is so amazing how the mama dogs know just what to do.

They were so cute, and they made the tiniest noises.

We are sad that Dixie will be gone for two months raising her puppies, but at least it is at the hottest time of year to walk her.

Here is a video of the third puppy actually being born.  Please ignore me talking.

Isaac called the puppy a "baby gorilla."  We could see where he was coming from.

Look at those tiny tiny paws!

Zev said that it smelled like when he looses a tooth, but bloodier.

We let each boy pet one puppy with one finger before they got picked up by the breeder who was rushing over.

Dixie had one more emergency style out in the backyard before she left.  Ari had to save the day again by helping her get back inside with the puppy still attached at the umbilical cord.
After Dixie left we were sad to see her and the puppies go.

One good thing cheered us up though, which was that Zevi finally lost another tooth that has been loose for quite a while.

That night at ten I got a text message showing me all eight puppies.  She had four more after she left here, and she ended up with four girls and four boys.

Ari had quite the busy day!  He did get to watch game 7 of the NBA finals after bed time though while I went to the store for him.  Maybe he will get a calmer day next year.
