Zoo with Mimi

This Sunday morning Ari had to work, so we went to the zoo with my mom.  This is a picture I took of the boys on the way to the zoo when they didn't know I was looking.  Tahl actually wanted to stop holding hands first, and Zev got his feelings hurt.  Zev has really come a long way with his brother. 

Here is a cute picture of Zev posing on a turtle statue. 

Tahl wanted to get on too, of course I couldn't get them to both look at me at the same time. 

Then Tahl was just a little bit worried that Zev's hug was pushing him off... 

Here are the guys playing in the nest in the play area. Zev told me, "Mom, eggs just dropped out of my tushy."

Zev let Tahl go down the slide in his lap again.  It is the world's slowest slide.  This video is in real time...

Zev took a pony ride, and then we got to pet a bunny and some goats. We went over the duck bridge, and Zev said, "Hey, he's the one with the feathers on his back!"  (There's a kids song about the duck with the feathers on his back which is Tahl's favorite Raffi song. After Zev said that, Tahl wouldn't stop quacking...) Before we left we decided to go in the bird area.  Both guys got to pet a bird, and one little bird kept nipping at our fingers when we tried to pet it. Then the zoo keeper asked Zev if he would like the bird on his head.  He loved it.

 Tahl said he wanted the bird on his head too, but as soon as we put it on, he swiped it right off. 

After a trip to see the giraffes and elephants and some lunch, we went to the carousel. Zev rode a dinosaur and then a pony.  I rode the elephant next to Zev's pony so we could race. 

Tahl rode in the nest during his first ride which at least spins in a circle, but then he sat on the bench with Mimi.  He threw a BIG fit when it was time to go.
