Making matzah!

The boys and I went with a friend to make matzah this week up at the J. Since Tahl gave up his nap (and especially when he was trying to share a room with Zev) this has been happening a lot.  Here he is  asleep with his doll in his Cinderella costume.  I love this kid.

He had to wake up to make some matzah!  The introduction was given by Pharaoh.

Jenny and Emma, Tahl, and Zev listened very well to the teacher and answered his questions.

After we mixed the dough, the instructor told them to put flour on their face.

Tahl tried really hard to make a ball.

He doesn't love dirty hands.

Zev was telling the other kids how it was done because he had already been to make Matzah with his class that morning.

Tahl was not quite sure how to use the rolling pin.

Zev kept getting more and more flour on his nose somehow.

Here's a big smile from Mr. T while he is poking holes.

A good close up of this cute face.

Zev was pretty sure his matzah was disgusting. (I have to agree.)  The recipe did not include any salt. It was just whole wheat flour and water.

Tahl's was a little better because he didn't roll it out quite as thin as matzah. His was a little more like pita.

He was also nice enough to share with Zevi.

Yum.

I think they are ready for Passover!  Hopefully we can use some store bought matzah. I'm even more hopeful that no one will panic this year every time the matzah breaks in half!
