December School

Here is Tahl painting with his friends.

This was pajama day for Hanukkah.

He painted this pot to give to Ari for Hanukkah.

Zev wore his matching pjs on the same day.

He was busy playing blocks outside in the "woods" at school.

The kids in Zev's room have been playing with shadows.

... and doing art.

On Tuesday Zev and his class went on a field trip.  I was one of the drivers, so here I have Zev and Julianna in my car.

He was so excited that I was there.

We all got there a little early, so the kids were waiting on this bench.

We got tired of waiting on the bench and went to play at Klyde Warren park.  The kids had a great time.

The kids were there to see a Modern Art exhibit.  It was actually Zev's first trip to the art museum.

He told everyone that this was made out of old pants.  The other kids were guessing paint and cloth. It turned out it was made out of recycled jeans.  It was of a sky, but he told everyone that it looked like "fungus." He cracks me up.

Here he is feeling a sample of the jeans.

Next we saw a collection of napkins the artist had drawn flowers on.  The kids were asked what they would draw if they could only draw one thing.  The other kids said "super heroes, cars, princesses, flowers, etc."  Zev, of course, said "machines."

This was one of our favorite things.  It was a spider web made out of chains, and Zev thought it was really cool.

The kids then got to go make their own art using paint chips like the artist had in one piece.

Z says his art was his favorite piece there.

We had a great time and headed out after just a short trip.
I had so much fun, and I'd love to do another field trip with Zev.  Thanks to Ann Marie for watching Tahl so I could go!
